Celebrate the Lunar New Year traditions of China and Vietnam on Wednesday, February 13th at the Holgate Library with a traditional lion dance, music, food and a puppet show about the Jade Emperor. Decorate red accordion fans to celebrate the Year of the Snake. Events are from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Arrive a bit early or expect a full parking lot... our Lunar New Year festivities are usually quite popular.
We recently received a number of letters from High Schoolers who wanted some personalized recommendations for things they might like to read. We *LOVE* this kind of thing... it makes our bookish souls glow. If it ever occurs to you that maybe you'd like a good hint about something excellent to read next, why don't you let us know as well? You can find us on Facebook, Twitter, or via your phone. Send us a text message, email or honest-to-goodness handwritten letter. You could even come in and see us!
And finally, the Database du Jour! Something you (with your library card) already own: Ancestry.com! Click here and enjoy your prepaid membership. It's a darned handy tool for figuring out where you came from.

Ancestry.com is not accessible by any login I can find -- is there a special library login to use for this resource? Thanks...
It looks like you actually have to visit the library to use this resource :(
(sorry, they must have just updated the page)|
